Morning, Arsenal fans
Jonathan David is rivalling Gabriel Jesus on the Gunners’ radar for strikers ahead of tomorrow’s crucial Prem finale against Everton.
And Sao Paulo winger Marquinhos is in London to reportedly tie up his £3million move to the Emirates.
But those three players merely share the transfer limelight with Barcelona speedster Memphis Depay.
Lille’s Canada star David has also been linked with Chelsea,Manchester United, Newcastle, West Ham and Aston Villa.
But he’d certainly be much cheaper than Manchester City’s Jesus.
And the £65m asking price for the Brazilian is rated the major obstacle to Arsenal stepping up their interest in the 25-year-old.
Marquinhos, though, looks a far more certain arrival at the Emirates, having rejected Sao Paulo’s repeated attempts to extend his contract.
Ex-Red Devils’ frontman Depay looks more of a long shot.
But there’s growing speculation Barca would be willing to offload the Holland ace for ‘just’ £25million.
But all this transfer gossip will be secondary until the Gunners know if they can defy the odds and reclaim the final Champions league spot from Spurs tomorrow afternoon.
Realistically, Arsenal must beat the now-safe Toffees and see Spurs lose at bottom side Norwich.
