Fans think Lil Uzi Vert came out as Non-Binary after They/Them pronouns


Lil Uzi Vert has sent fans into a tizzy by changing their pronouns to They/Them on Instagram. While the rapper is yet to explain what the description on the bio could mean, fans are of the opinion that they came out as non-binary.

Nearly a year ago, Instagram added a new feature that allows users to add their preferred pronouns to their bio.

And, since Lil Uzi’s announcement came just days after the International Non-Binary People’s Day on July 14, fans can’t help but wonder if the singer is now identifying themself as non-binary.

Lil Uzi Vert changes pronouns to they/them

Pronouns are basically how we identify ourselves besides our names. According to NPR, nonbinary is a term used to refer to people who do not “who do not describe themselves or their genders as fitting into the categories of man or woman.”

Over the weekend, Lil Uzi changed their pronouns to they/them on Instagram without sharing anything else.

The rest of the bio reads “Red & White = P!NK”, their forthcoming EP.

Li Uzi also shared a video featuring clips of the rappergetting ink on their tongue along with the behind-the-scene footage from their concerts.

It came with the announcement of the rapper’s latest single Space Cadet which is available on SoundCloud to stream.

Fans think rapper is non-binary

Lil Uzi’s updated Instagram bio has convinced fans that the rapper just came out as non-binary.

“lil uzi vert is non-binary now omg I love and support him,” tweeted one.

Another added, “Lil Uzi Vert coming out as non-binary isn’t exactly something I expected to see today”

“lil uzi vert being non binary is unironically cool asf,” wrote one fan.

Fans are happy for the singer nevertheless.

“SO PROUD #LilUziVert,” said one in response to the rapper updating his Instagram bio.

Another fan said, “just found out lil uzi vert uses they/them pronouns and i love that for them”

How to change pronouns on Instagram

Instagram users can add up to four pronouns on their profile, which will either be displayed to the public or only their followers. You can find it in your profile depending on your country of residency.

  • Open Instagram and click on your profile.
  • Select Edit Profile below your bio.
  • You can see a section called ‘Pronouns’.
  • Tap on it and add your pronouns.
  • Select whether you want to display your pronoun to the public or only your followers by changing the audience.
